Location
The airport is located 5km (3 miles) south from the capital of the island, Puerto del Rosario.
Driving Directions
Fuerteventura Airport is located 5km (3 miles) south of Puerto del Rosario and can be easily reached via the FV-2 highway.
Car Hire
Car hire companies represented at the airport include Autos Reisen Top Car, Avis, Betacar, Cicar and Hertz.
Public Transport
Bus: Local bus company Tiadhe (tel: (928) 852 166; ) serves the airport with buses running between Puerto del Rosario and Caleta de Fuste (El Castillo) and between Puerto del Rosario and Morro Jable. Buses depart from the airport every 30 minutes from early morning until late in the evening from Monday to Saturday and less frequently on Sundays. Taxi: Taxis are available at the curb opposite the arrivals hall. It is possible to book a taxi in advance (tel: (928) 855 432 or 928 850 216).
Car Parking
The car park is located near the terminal building and has parking spaces for 1,200 private cars, 300 rental cars and 60 buses. Parking is free for the first half hour.
Information and Help Desks
There are two Aena skycap information desks (tel: (902) 404 704) in the terminal and a tourist office located in the arrivals area.
Airport Facilities
Money and communications: A bank and ATMs are available in the terminal building.
Eating and drinking: There are two cafes, one on each floor, selling sandwiches, beer, spirits, soft drinks, mixed drinks, espresso coffee and snacks. A cafeteria on the ground floor sells sandwiches, confectionery, coffee, soft drinks, beer and spirits. An outlet for ice cream and cakes is also available.
Shopping: Fuerteventura airport has two multi-shops called Air Zone Shops located on the first floor. They have a wide variety of products, including spirits, chocolates, cosmetics and well-known brands of national and international perfumes. A couple of local crafts shops selling gift items are also available.
Luggage: There is a lost property service (tel: (928) 860 702) but no luggage lockers at the airport.
Other facilities: A first aid service (tel: (928) 860 717) is available. There is also a play area for children in the terminal.
Conference and Business Facilities
A VIP lounge is located in the check-in area.
Facilities for Disabled Travelers
Facilities for disabled people are very good and include reserved parking spaces, bright signalling for the visually impaired throughout the airport, handrails on ramps, text telephones for people with hearing problems, toilets easily accessible to wheelchair users, and emergency intercoms connected to the safety control center in toilets and lifts, and also sound signals in the latter.
