Location
Madeira Airport is located in the city of Santa Cruz, 16km (10 miles) to the northeast of Funchal.
Driving Directions
The main road to Madeira Airport is the Via Rápida (R101), and the drive from the center of Funchal to the airport takes around 15 minutes.
Car Hire
There are seven car hire providers at Madeira Airport: Auto Jardim, Avis, Guerin, Europcar, Hertz, Sixt and Rodavante.
Public Transport
Bus: Buses run hourly (with some variations during the day) between Madeira Airport and Funchal city center. The journey time on the regular service bus is about 25 minutes, and the fare €2.75, while the Airport Express bus costs €5 to and from Praia Formosa. Taxi: Taxis can be hailed outside Arrivals. Car Parking
Car parks 1, 3, 5, 6 and 7 are available to the public. A direct access walkway from the car park leads to the passenger terminal building, providing greater comfort to users.

Airport Facilities
Money and communications: A bank, a post office, a currency exchange office and several ATMs are available in the terminal. There are also Netpoint machines and Wireless Internet access available.
Eating and drinking: There are three cafes, two bars, one snack bar and two restaurants in the terminal building.
Shopping: The airport has quite a large shopping area. In the public areas on levels 0 and 1 regional handicraft and flower shops as well as news stands and coffee shops are available. In the departure area on level 2, products for sale include perfumes, local products, sunglasses, children's fashion, Madeira embroidery, leather products, travel accessories and much more.
Luggage: A left luggage facility is available on level 0. The police station (tel: (291) 520 889) is located near the terminal, and it is the place to go to with queries about lost and found items.
Other facilities: Baby changing facilities are located in toilets in several areas of the terminal. The Portimar travel agency (tel: (291) 524 737) can be found on level 1.
Conference and Business Facilities
Madeira Airport has two VIP rooms, one on the ground floor and another on the first floor. In addition, there are two other rooms for use by the media. Wireless Internet access is available in the terminal.
