The airport is currently undergoing general improvements both to terminal facilities and aircraft handling infrastructure, in preparation for an anticipated growth in demand.

From Faro, take route EN125 - the airport is clearly signposted.

Car Hire

Auto Jardim, Avis, Budget, Europcar, Guerin, Hertz and Sixt are all represented, with counters located in the land-side Arrivals area.

Public Transport

Bus: EVA Bus (tel: (0289) 899 760; www.eva-bus.com) runs services from the terminal building to various locations in central Faro including the central bus station, from where longer distance services run throughout the Algarve, including Albufeira, Lagos, Portimão and Tavira (passengers should check the timetables posted near the information desk at the meeting point). Journey time to Faro is around 20 minutes, and the one-way fare around €2.50. Shuttle: A number of pre-bookable resort shuttle minibus services also operate from the airport. Taxi: Taxis are available outside the terminal building, near the Arrivals concourse.

Car Parking

Short-term parking is located in car park P1 in the Departures area and car park P3 in the Arrivals area. Car park P2 offers long-term parking and is located behind car parks P1 and P3. Hire cars are located in a separate car park. Information is available on (tel: (0289) 889 465).

Information and Help Desks

There is an information service desk at the meeting point in the terminal building. Passengers can contact the information service (tel: (0289) 800 617) for details of flights, disabled facilities, opening hours and public transport timetables. Cultural and tourist information is also available on arrival from the ICEP desk.

Money and communications: There are banks in both the Arrivals and Departures concourses, with ATMs located nearby. A bureau de change and post office are located in the Arrivals concourse. Internet access points are available throughout the airport.

There are duty-free (for non-EU travelers) and tax-paid shops at the airport, offering a wide variety of goods.
