The airport is located 45 km (29 miles) north west of Milan.

Airport News

Work is underway on construction of a third satellite area at Terminal 1. A third runway is also planned, and due to come into operation in 2012.

Transfer Between Terminals

A shuttle bus connects the two terminals.

Driving Directions

The airport can be reached from the state road SS336. Take the Busto Arsizio exit from the Autostrada dei Laghi (A8), which links directly with Milan.

Car Hire

Auto Europa, Avis, EasyCar, Europcar, Hertz, Locauto, Maggiore, Sixt, Targa Rent and Thrifty are all located on the first floor, Terminal 1.

Public Transport

Bus: Buses run from both terminals to Milan's Central Station. There are also services to Linate Airport, Sesto and Torino, among other destinations. The Malpensa Shuttle Air Pullman (tel: 0331 258 411; ticketonline.malpensashuttle.it) runs from both terminals to Milano Centrale Station (stopping on request at the conference and exhibition center during Milan fair events). Fare is €7.50 one way, €12 return, and journey time about 50 mins.

Taxi: Taxis are available from outside Arrivals at both terminals.
Rail: The Malpensa Express (tel: 02 8511 4382; www.malpensaexpress.it) trains run from Terminal 1 direct to Milano Cadorna Station (journey time: 30-40 minutes), in the center of Milan. The fare is €11 one-way.

Car Parking

Short- and long-term parking, operated by SEA Parking (tel: 02 7486 2646) and APCOA (tel: 02 5858 1069), is available close to Terminal 1. APCOA provides covered parking spaces that are linked directly to the terminal by a walkway. SEA Parking also provides long- and short-term parking close to Terminal 2. A Park & Fly shuttle bus is available. Valet parking is available at both terminals.

Information and Help Desks

There are several information points (tel: 02 7485 2200) located throughout both terminals. There is a tourist information desk (tel: 02 5858 0506) in Terminal 1

Airport Facilities

Money and communications: Facilities include banks, bureau de change, post offices, public telephones and fax facilities in both terminals. Wireless Internet access is available in the terminals.
Eating and drinking:
There are bars, a cocktail lounge and restaurants.
Shopping:
There are numerous shops at the airport, including duty-free.
Luggage: Left-luggage (tel: (02) 5858 0298) is available in Terminal 1.
Other facilities:
There are chemists and travel agencies. First aid and health offices are available in both terminals. Travel agencies and transport tickets desks are also available. Chapels can be found in both terminals.

Conference and Business Facilities

The Fly Business Center (tel: 02 5858 1199) offers business services including workstations, fax, photocopier, videoconferencing, Internet access, translation service and mobile phone hire. Conference rooms, with facilities for a maximum of 14 people, should be booked in advance. Club SEA lounges (tel: 02 7485 2841) offer business facilities to members. Meeting facilities and a fully equipped business center are also available at the First Hotel Malpensa Airport (tel: 0331 717 045; www.firsthotel.it) and the Crowne Plaza Milan-Malpensa (tel: 0331 21161; www.crowneplazamalpensa.com)

Facilities for Disabled Travelers

Assistance for disabled passengers, who should inform their airline of any special needs when making their flight booking, is available. There are lifts and ramps for access, as well as disabled toilets and telephones in both terminals. The Sala Amica (courtesy lounge) in Terminal 1 provides toilets for people with reduced mobility, telephones for the hearing-impaired as well as newspapers and magazines in Braille if required. Disabled parking is available at both terminals.
