Location
Shannon Airport is situated 24km (15 miles) northwest of Limerick and 90km (56 miles) south of Galway.
Driving Directions
From Limerick, the airport can be reached on the northbound N18 by following the signs for Ennis, and from Galway on the southbound N18. At Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, take the junction for Shannon Airport and bear left on the N19.
Car Hire
Car hire companies at Shannon Airport include Budget, Dooley, Europcar, Hertz and Sixt/Murrays. Each of these providers has desks in the arrivals hall.
Public Transport
Bus: J J Kavanagh and Sons (tel: 0818 333 222; www.jjkavanagh.ie) operates regular services from Shannon Airport to Limerick (journey time: 25 minutes, fare: €5) and onwards to Dublin. Bus Éireann (tel: (061) 313 333; www.buseireann.ie) offers coach connections to and from all major Irish cities. Taxi: Taxis drop off passengers on the departures courtyard outside the terminal building. There is a taxi desk in the Arrivals hall (tel: (061) 471 538). The fare to central Limerick is around €35.
Car Parking
There are more than 5,000 car parking spaces at the airport. Short-term parking (less than 24 hours) is available directly in front of the terminal building and a number of long-term car parks are also available in the immediate vicinity.

The airport information desk (tel: (061) 712 400) and the tourist information and reservations center (tel: (061) 471 664) are located in the arrivals concourse.
Airport Facilities
Money and communications: There are bureau de change, full banking facilities and ATMs in the terminal. Telephones and free Wi-Fi Internet access are also available throughout the airport.
Eating and drinking: There is a self-service cafe on the first floor before check in, as well as a bar. The bar in the Departures lounge is open 24 hours a day.
Shopping: There are Irish gift shops, a food store/newsagents and a bookshop/Internet cafe between check-in and the Arrivals hall. There are duty-free shops in the Departures lounge (tel: (061) 4775 047).
Luggage: A left-luggage service is available off the arrivals hall on the link corridor serving coach park 1. Contact (087) 328 5935 for further information. This is also the number to call for lost property. A porter can be summoned via the telephones situated throughout the terminal.
Other facilities: There are two nurseries, located in the Departures lounge and Arrivals concourse, and a small oratory.
Conference and Business Facilities
The Rineanna Suite is located next to Gate 7 and is open to all for a fee (free to some members) 0600-1900. Airlines and groups can request executive lounge facilities for corporate events, press launches and business meetings. Meeting rooms are also available at the on-site Park Inn Hotel (tel: (061) 471 122; www.parkinn.ie).
Facilities for Disabled Travelers
Shannon Airport has lifts, specially adapted payphones and vending machines, disabled toilets and ramps located throughout the terminal building. There are two clearly marked spaces to pick-up and set-down disabled travelers in front of the terminal. Reserved parking is available in the short-term car park, with spaces located adjacent to terminal entrances. Wheelchairs are available free of charge for use within the airport. Passengers requiring special assistance should inform their airline prior to travel.
