Airport News

Transfer Between Terminals

A free shuttle bus runs between the terminals and to car park P6.

Driving Directions

The airport is situated between ring roads R2 and R3 on the B433, and is easily accessible and well-signposted from central Hamburg. The A7 Autobahn provides a connection to the airport at exit 23, Schnelsen-Nord.

Car Hire

Avis, Europcar, Hertz, Sixt and Terstappenare all represented at the airport; the booking counters are located in Terminal 2, level 0.

Public Transport

Bus: Numerous HVV bus services (tel: (040) 19449; www.hvv.de) run to the city center and other points around Hamburg, and the night bus 606 stops at the main railway station.

Rail: The S-Bahn route S1 (tel: (040) 3918 4385; www.s-bahn-hamburg.de) links the airport directly with Hamburg central station (journey time: 25 minutes). The station is directly in front of the terminals.

Car Parking

Parking is available at six car parks, four of which offer short and long-term parking close to the terminals; two are further away, cheaper, and aimed at leisure travelers. Valet parking is available (tel: (040) 5131 9363). Parking can be booked via the airport website, otherwise an 'intelligent' indicator system guides drivers to the nearest suitable available spaces.
