Airport News

Refurbishments to both the international and domestic terminals are due for completion in September 2011, including improvements to the baggage claim and waiting areas. Upgrades are also being made to the car parks.

Transfer between the international and domestic terminals is by shuttle bus or taxi.

Driving Directions

For the international terminal, travel east along the Great Eastern Highway from Perth city center, turn right onto Tonkin Highway and head south-east, turning left at Horrie-Miller Drive. For the domestic terminals, travel east along the Great Eastern Highway from Perth city center and turn right at Brearley Avenue.

Car Hire

Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, Redspot and Thrifty are all represented at the airport. Desks are located on the ground floors of all three terminals.

Public Transport

Bus: The Perth Airport Connect Shuttle (tel: 1300 666 806; www.perthairportconnect.com.au) meets every arrival within 30-45 minutes and operates between both domestic and international terminals and the city center (journey time: 45-60 minutes). Bus 37 (tel: (08) 9428 1900; www.transperth.wa.gov.au) operates between the domestic terminal and the city center. The Fremantle Airport Shuttle service (tel: 1300 666 806), which runs to Fremantle, a suburb of Perth, is also available. Taxi: Taxi ranks are situated outside the domestic and international terminals; travelers may be required to pay their fare in advance. The same fare applies for either a single person or a group, and is around A$40 to the Central Business District.

Car Parking

There are large parking areas at both the domestic and international terminals, directly in front of the terminal buildings, with both short- and long-term parking availability. Secure, undercover car parking is available at the domestic terminal's 'fast track' facility in Car Park 1 and 2, with short-term and long-term rates available.

Information and Help Desks

There is a self-help information center on the ground floor of the international terminal. Volunteer customer service officers are also available daily to provide information and answer enquiries. They are recognizable by their distinctive gold jackets.

Airport Facilities

Money and communications: There are several bureau de change open daily for all flights, some of which also offer travel insurance; ATMs and telephones are located throughout the airport. There is also a postal service at the airport. Mobile phone hire is available. Internet access machines are located in all terminals, and Wireless Internet access is also available.
Eating and drinking: There are several restaurants, bars and cafés in the International terminal, including a pub and wine bar.
Shopping: An extensive range of duty-free goods is available in Terminal 1 (International).
Luggage: The airport has lost property offices in Terminal 1 (International) (tel: (08) 9478 8503), Terminal 2 (tel: (08) 9270 9504) and Terminal 3 (tel: (08) 9478 8703). Left-luggage lockers are located outside both the international and domestic terminals.
Other facilities: Baby changing rooms are available in all terminals. Showers are also available. A non-denominational quiet room for prayer or quiet contemplation is available for airport users on the ground floor of Terminal 1. An outdoor playground for kids is located just outside Terminal 1. A First Aid service can be contacted by calling (tel: (08) 9478 8572/3).

Conference and Business Facilities

There are no conference facilities at Perth Airport. The Comfort Inn Bel Eyre (tel: (08) 9259 3888; www.beleyremotel.com.au), 4km (2.3 miles) from the airport, can provide meeting and conference facilities for up to 100 delegates, with audiovisual equipment for hire and catering available.

Facilities for Disabled Travelers

Perth Airport is fully accessible to disabled passengers. Wheelchairs are available on request for passengers to use within the terminals, subject to availability.
