Location
The airport is located 13km (8 miles) northeast of Brisbane.
Airport News
A new airport hotel, linked to the terminals via shuttle and the Airtain, opened in late 2009 as part of an ongoing expansion of the terminal facilities. A new multi-story car park is scheduled to open at the Domestic Terminal late in 2011. A new taxi 'call forward' area has also opened, as part of an eventual redesigned ground transportation center.
Driving Directions
Brisbane Airport is located on Airport Drive with direct links off the Gateway Motorway (Exit 108), and East West Arterial Road.
Car Hire
Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, Redspot and Thrifty are represented at the airport, as well as several local operators. International Terminal offices are located on Level 2, while they can be found on the ground floor in the Domestic Terminal.
Public Transport
Bus: Airport buses are available from both terminals to Brisbane Transit Center in Roma Street, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast. A door-to-door service is also provided. Taxi: Taxis are readily available; companies include Black & White Cabs (tel: (07) 133 322; www.blackandwhitecabs.com.au) and Yellow Cabs (tel: 131 924; www.yellowcab.com.au). There is a taxi rank on the front terminal road outside the Domestic Terminal and one in Arrivals, Level 2, at the International Terminal.
Rail: The Airtrain (tel: (07) 3216 3308; www.airtrain.com.au) provides services to Brisbane Central Station (journey time: 22 minutes) and to the Gold Coast (journey time: 90 minutes). Airtrain stations are located directly outside the Domestic and International terminals.
Car Parking
Short- and long-term parking (tel: (07) 3406 3088) is available at the International and Domestic terminals. Major changes to parking arrangements are currently under way at the Domestic Terminal – for further information visit: www.bne.com.au.
Information and Help Desks
There is a Visitors Information Center (tel: (07) 3406 3190) on level 2 (Arrivals) of the International Terminal, and passenger information desks on the ground floor of the Domestic Terminal.
Airport Facilities
Money and communications: The International Terminal has bureau de change facilities and ATMs on levels 2, 3 and 4. The Domestic Terminal has bureau de change facilities on level 2. Payphones are situated throughout both terminals. Internet access is available.
Eating and drinking: There are plenty of cafés and bars at the airport.
Shopping: A wide range of shops are available, with duty-free located in the International Terminal.
Luggage: Lost property offices are situated in both the International and Domestic terminals. There are no left-luggage facilities at the airport, due to security requirements.
Other facilities: There is a First Aid room, baby change rooms and a non-denominational prayer room in the International Terminal. Showers are available in both terminals.
Conference and Business Facilities
Fax, photocopy and Internet facilities are available in the small business center in the main hall. There are no conference facilities at the airport. A number of meeting rooms, with capacities of between 12 and 100, are offered at the new Novotel Brisbane Airport Hotel (tel: (07) 317 53100; www.novotel.com).
Facilities for Disabled Travelers
There is ramped and lift access to all floors, wheelchair-accessible toilets, and shops and dining areas designed for disabled people in the International Terminal. Disabled car parking spaces and wheelchair set-downs are also available.
