Festivals

Festivals today have long since expanded on their religious or historical traditions and can celebrate anything from the arts to food, beer, comedy, film, music, science, theatre, vintage computers, cartoons, literature, winter or summer, camels, mobile phones, wife carrying or cheese rolling.

Some are controversial, weird, wonderful or downright entertaining like camel wrestling or wild goat racing. They are often a source of entertainment and education and bring you into contact with colorful cultures and locations. If you've never considered traveling simply for the fiesta it's time you read some Hemingway and thought again.
