Day 1+2

Barcelona, Spain

Our full day in this magical city takes us to Montjuic, where we reach the spectacular harbor views by funicular (sloped railway) and gondola. Atop the broad hilltop, we’ll visit the Joan Miro Foundation. Afternoon takes us to Casa Mila and La Sagrada Familia, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Day 3+4

Figueres & S’Agaro, Spain

On our way from Barcelona to Figureres, we’ll stop in the Alella wine region and sample the crisp, floral white varietals for which the area is known.

In Figueres, we take in the largest collection in the world of Salvador Dali’s works, a fitting tribute to the artist in his Catalan home town. We continue to the stunning resort enclave of S’Agaro for a two-night stay.

Morning takes us to Empuries for a theatrical guided tour of the Phoenician and Roman city and museum. Return to S’Agaro along stunning scenic countryside with a stop to visit the medieval village of Pals.

Day 5+6

Envalira Pass & Andorra la Vella, Andorra

This morning, a scenic drive takes us through Girona on our way to the Principality of Andorra. As we continue to Andorra la Vella, we will cross the stunning Envalira Pass, the highest paved road in the Pyrenees. We will explore the charming capital city of tiny Andorra, stopping to enjoy lunch at a local farm.

Day 7+8

Carcassonne, France

A beautiful Pyrenees drive takes us across the border into France.

Our morning walking tour will show us the fortified Medieval Citadel, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, spiked with towers, ramparts, and a castle. Tonight, we will dine in La Marquiere, a delectable restaurant that makes its home in a 17th century monastery. Our hotel is situated within the ancient city walls, in the heart of the medieval fortress.

Day 9+10

Albi & Toulouse, France

We depart Carcassonne and travel along the famous Perigord cycle route to Albi, with a stop at the "village above the clouds," Cordes-sur-Ciel.

Once in Albi, we will visit the town’s most famous site, the Museum Toulouse-Lautrec, where the artists' work is arrayed in one of the oldest and best preserved castles in France.

We’ll enjoy a morning guided exploration of Toulouse and a full afternoon at your leisure to enjoy this amazing city.

Day 11-13

Lourdes & Biarritz, France

An easy morning drive takes us to the revered town our Lourdes, where we will visit the hallowed shrine of St. Bernadette.

We arrive in Biarritz in late afternoon. Our morning tour shows us the Rock of the Blessed Virgin, a beacon of thanksgiving from whalers who raised the statue in its citadel location, as well as the Grande Plage, one of the world’s most acclaimed surfing beaches. We’ll continue to St. Jean de Luz, a charming seaside resort home to the beautiful Maison Louis XIV, where the legendary Sun King established his residence in 1660. We'll cross the border to San Sebastian in the Spanish Basque for a glimpse of its picturesque shoreline and immerse in its famous pintxos (tapas) scene. Later in Biarritz, celebrate our journey with a farewell dinner and Basque entertaiment.

Morning finds us exploring the French interior Basque country, with a visit to a Basque Espelette pepper grower, a stop in the picturesque village of St. Jean Pied de Port, and time to explore Irouleguy vineyards. We return to Biarritz where we’ll say regretful good-byes at our Farewell Cocktail Party.
